Finding Earth, Finding Soul: The Path to Authentic Leadership

Tim 'Mac' Macartney

Trained with the Native American medicine people & founder of the Embercombe Centre

Mac is the founder of Embercombe, a social enterprise seeking to inspire committed action for a truly sustainable world. For twenty years he was mentored by Native American 'Medicine' people to learn the Earth wisdom that once also informed Britain's indigenous and tribal past. Mac is the originator of Embercombe's powerful andevocative programme 'The Journey' and is actively contributing to all kinds of projects holding the potential for bringing the 'world of our longing' a little closer. He is also consulting to various large corporations, fulfilling a promise he made to bring 'the children's fire' to the leaders of organisations. Mac is the author of 'Finding Earth, Finding Soul - the invisible path to authentic leadership' and a number of articles written for The Guardian Sustainable Business blog.

Mac's talk takes us into the hot, raw, wild heart of these extraordinary times - the crucible of choice, passivity, longing, fierce love, vulnerability, and tenderness that paves the journey of the would-be authentic leader. This is not leadership as you know it. It is something else, and its roots are hidden in the shadowed past when our spirituality was blessed and informed by the wild, and the deep knowing that this land, Britain, was once named sacred. As the Hopi Elders have announced 'We are the ones we have been waiting for'.
